MCP

Bezala now supports MCP connectivity, which lets you chat with your Bezala data directly in your AI assistant and, for example, visualize it. Below you'll find instructions for setting up MCP.

What does MCP mean?

MCP, or Model Context Protocol, is a standard that defines a unified way for MCP-enabled AI assistants to connect with external software and data sources, such as Bezala.

How does Bezala's MCP work?

Bezala can be connected to your organization's AI assistant via MCP – provided the assistant supports MCP (for example, the Pro version of Copilot).


Setup happens in two steps: first the MCP server is activated in Bezala's settings, and only after that is the connection added in the AI assistant's own connector settings.

Features available via MCP

Bezala's MCP currently allows you to retrieve expenses, users, and absence data from Bezala, as well as approve expenses. For example, you can ask the AI to visualize expenses submitted to bookkeeping during the month, broken down by purchase, or to list emission estimates by purchase type.

Setup

MCP should be set up in accordance with your organization's own AI policy, not with personal AI accounts. Bezala is not responsible for which MCP-enabled software customers connect their Bezala account to, or how or where that software processes data retrieved from Bezala.

Connecting Bezala's MCP to an AI assistant at the organization level

  1. Activate the MCP server in Bezala
    Go to the Settings page in Bezala, open AI features & agents, and activate the MCP server there. This can only be done by a user with the Settings Administrator role.

  2. Add Bezala's MCP address to your AI assistant
    Open your AI assistant's connector or integration settings and add Bezala's MCP server address:

app.bezala.com/api/mcp

Setting up MCP per user

  1. Log in and approve the connection
    Once Bezala's MCP has been added to the AI assistant's company account, users can activate MCP for their own use. Each program has its own instructions for this (usually found under Connectors → Manage connectors).

    During activation, the user is asked to log in to Bezala and approve the connection on Bezala's side as well, after which the connection is active.

  2. Start using it in chat
    You can now ask the AI, for example, about your company's expenses or working time tracking, and ask it to visualize data retrieved from Bezala. The AI displays data according to your permissions and asks for separate approval when it makes changes (e.g. approving a receipt).

    Via MCP, a user can only retrieve information and perform actions that their user role allows. For example, a user with the Employee role cannot retrieve expenses submitted by other users, unlike, for example, a user with the Accountant role.
