Why should you use emission estimation in Bezala?
With the EU's new legislation, medium-sized and large companies must measure and report their carbon dioxide emissions. We here at Bezala want to make it as easy and as accurate as possible for your company. With the help of Bezala's emission estimation, your company can accurately estimate the emissions of your transactions, which are mainly estimated based on price and/or distance of travel (see example in the video).
When you start using this feature in Bezala, you can easily make your business more competitive, as it allows you to show your customers how sustainable you are. It also becomes easier to see where you can make more sustainable choices within your company.
How do you implement Bezala's emission estimation feature in your company?
You can enable these calculations by mapping each expense type to a corresponding expense category on the Accounts page behind each expense account under the "Expense Category" header:
Mapping an "Expense Category" to an expense type will bring forth predetermined additional questions. If these questions are not answered, the emissions of the expense will be calculated approximately based on the expense category and the monetary amount.
The conditional fields in the screenshot above and the emissions calculations will look like this on the receipt form:
"Vehicle" and "Number of passengers" fields are dropdowns, and the "Distance" field needs to be filled in manually. Please note that the value in the "Distance" field will only be saved after pressing Enter.
Guide for mapping the expense categories and accounts
Using Netvisor, Procountor or Fortnox chart of accounts in Bezala:
If your chart of accounts is identical to the simplified business accountant's chart of accounts (expense accounts listed in the hidden section below), your expense accounts have been pre-mapped to the appropriate expense categories. If you have modified your company's chart of accounts, only the expense accounts listed in this guide are mapped to the expense categories. The remaining expense accounts must be mapped to the appropriate expense categories manually.
If you are using a customized chart of accounts in Bezala:
If your chart of accounts is fully customized for you, your company's expense accounts must be manually mapped to the appropriate expense categories.

Calculating emissions for mileages
It's possible to calculate emissions for mileages after enabling fuel types for your company's mileage category. If these aren't visible for your users, please contact Bezala's customer support.
Bezala multiplies the distance by the CO2e/km coefficient published by Defra.
You can find the coefficients used by Bezala below:
